How long have you been with PRC?
Joined PRC in March 2023 as part of the Learn to Run (LTR) Program.
What made you start running?
I wanted to lose weight and be healthy, but to be honest, I hated running. I tried so many times over the years to get into it, but it never stuck. I joined another running club, but I wasn’t really engaged and barely ran at all. After a few month hiatus and a miscarriage, I signed up for LTR as a way to reset and build a healthy routine. At the time, running felt like the one thing I could control. Funny enough, somewhere along the way, I actually started enjoying it. Now, I crave a good run—it still helps clear my head (and let’s be real, keeps me sane!).
What is your best/worst run?
My best run was the Banished Brewing Five & Dime in 2023, which took place the day after my LTR graduation run. I was so proud of how far I had come and hitting a sub-30 in the 5K felt like an achievement I never would have thought possible after my first LTR session. On the other hand, my worst run was Will Run For Beer in 2022. It was a tough challenge, but it was also a learning experience that helped shape my running journey.
Favorite running shoe?
Currently running in Brooks Adrenaline, but missing my old Brooks Glycerin 20s.
How do you track your runs?
I track my runs with my Garmin Forerunner 255s. It is synced with my Strava account.
Do you have a current running goal?
I do! My goal is to complete Cape to Cabot in October.
Best training tip you can provide/received?
You have to go slow before you can go fast. That, and the reminder that consistency is key. Showing up, even on the tough days, makes all the difference.
